Bone Plates - HCM Orthocare,

Bone plates are medical devices used in orthopedic surgery to support and stabilize fractured bones. They are usually made of metal, such as stainless steel or titanium, and come in different shapes and sizes to fit the specific bone and fracture pattern.

Bone plates

Bone plates provide a frame to which the fractured bone may be attached facilitating anatomic reduction of the boney column in some cases and, if the implant is selected and applied correctly, neutralization of the forces acting on the fractured bone during the healing process.

The bone plates are surgically placed on the surface of the bone and secured with screws. This helps to hold the bone fragments in place and promote healing. In some cases, bone grafts may also be used along with the plate to aid in the healing process.

Bone plates are commonly used in the treatment of fractures in the arms, legs, and pelvis. They are also used in spinal surgery to stabilize and support the spine after a fracture or spinal fusion. The use of bone plates has greatly improved the outcomes of many orthopedic surgeries and has helped many patients to recover from their injuries more quickly and effectively.
